Basque Health Cluster took part on October 2nd and 3rd in the conference Health in the Basque Country: alliances for innovation and transformation”, organized together with Deusto Business School Health and supported by Novo Nordisk.

The event brought together leaders from the healthcare field, institutional representatives and key agents of the Basque health innovation ecosystem, with the aim of reflecting on the challenges and opportunities to strengthen public-private partnerships and move towards a sustainable model of collaboration and transformation within the health system.

During the first session, Asier Albizu, President of Basque Health Cluster, and María Ribate, Head of Internationalisation and Strategy, presented the cluster’s strategic plan, highlighting its evolution, main achievements and roadmap towards 2030 — focused on intersectoral cooperation, internationalisation, and digitalisation as key growth drivers.

The second day featured Idoia Muñoz Lizan, General Director of the Cluster, who moderated the roundtable “Incorporating innovation in Osakidetza: challenges and opportunities”.

This session provided a space to discuss how collaborations between the health system and the innovation ecosystem are being structured, what improvements can be made to strengthen these relationships, and the role of clinical leadership, patients, and innovation catalysts.

The event underscored the importance of joint work among all actors in the Basque health innovation ecosystem, continuing to build a collaborative environment that fosters the creation of innovative and sustainable projects that serve society
